Yes, we have been away for almost a month! After the cruise we spent two weeks in Hilton Head, SC.
The cruise was our first ever. We drove to Atlanta and flew from there to San Jan, Puerto Rico. We set sail at 11pm on Valentine’s Day. As you can see from the previously posted photo, we enjoyed our first evening on the ship which included a wonderful dinner at the Normandie Restaurant. The photo was taken on our balcony… so glad we decided to splurge on a stateroom with balcony.

Our first port of call was St. Maarten which is known for duty free shopping… especially diamonds and watches. Didn’t buy any though. In Dominica, we hired a driver for a tour of the rainforest… very lush, with steaming sulphur pools and rain, of course. In Grenada, we swam at Grand Anse Beach with its fine white sand and calm waters. Once we got to Bonaire, Mike got his chance to go snorkelling. I went too but didn’t stay in very long. I prefer to swim without fins or all the paraphenalia on my face. In Aruba, we went once again to one of the fabulous beaches for some sun, surf and sand.

All the time on board ship was great… lots of food, activities, pools to relax by, nightly live shows in the theatre, food (did I say that already?) Definitely an experience we’re glad we had.

Our two weeks in HH were spent visiting with family and friends, cycling, shopping and golfing. The weather was cool until a couple of days before we came home but didn’t slow us down too much. After all, Canadians don’t let a little cold weather stop them, eh?
